Everyone is crazy about the Grammys! Let’s not forget that the Grammy Awards now also celebrate the artists of dance and electronic music genre, so before year 2013 kicks in with the new talent, we should remember the nominees and winners of the Best Dance/Electronica Album category of year 2012.
The five nominees at the 54th Grammy Awards 2012 were Cut Copy with album “Zonoscope” (Modular Recordings), Deadmau5 with album “4 x 4 = 12” (Ultra Records), David Guetta with album “Nothing But The Beat”, Robyn with her “Body Talk, Pt.3” (Cherrytree/Interscope) and Skrillex with album “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites” (Big Beat/Atlantic).
In a tough competition we were more than excited to hear the news that the gifted young American electronic music producer, engineer and mixer Skrillex won the category with his album! His innovative sound of dubstep, electro and progressive house had invaded not only our iPods but also the biggest dance floors and radio stations around the world. Moreover, the hit song with the same name as the album “Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites” won Skrillex also the Best Dance Recording category at the Grammys 2012, as it had become the most commercially successful single ever, peaking within the charts of the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Norway and Sweden! He won the category leaving behind other powerful nominees as Swedish House Mafia, Robyn, David Guetta & Avicii, Deadmau5 and Duck Sauce.
